Marketing and Grants Manager

Background:
MEDA was founded in 1971 by a group of Twin Cities’ business leaders in response to rapidly rising poverty and disproportionate unemployment within communities of color in Minneapolis. MEDA’s founders saw business ownership as a positive, long-term response to growing racial and economic disparities. From this important start, MEDA has progressed to become a leading economic development organization.

MEDA’s board of directors has challenged the organization to serve as a catalyst for change to address dire racial disparities and unemployment rates for communities of color in Minnesota. Our programs have consistently documented that Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) hire employees of color at a rate of more than 50%. Our goal is to educate a base of high performing community leaders to expand and grow their companies-- resulting in significant job creation within communities of color.

This position will join a small development team consisting of a Director of Development, a part-time Events Coordinator, and an Administrative Assistant.
